MOVIE REVIEW: 13 GOING ON 30 (Gary Winick, 2004)

In retrospect, it was actually a bit creepy watching a grown man kiss a teen trapped in a woman’s body.

Still, this was a great showcase for Jennifer Garner. Her performance reminded me so much of Jamie Lee Curtis’ in Freaky Friday and a little bit of Tom Hanks’ in Big. She was incredibly charming here that I wondered why her career as a rom-com leading lady never really took off.

The young Jen was played by Christa B. Allen. Yup, Charlotte Grayson of Revenge. 😳

Loved the Liz Phair song!!

🎼
“Why can’t I breathe whenever I think about you
Why can’t I speak whenever I talk about you
It’s inevitable, it’s a fact that we’re gonna get down to it
So tell me
Why can’t I breathe whenever I think about you..”

Rating: ★★★☆☆
