I remember watching Ms. Kristina Moran: Babaeng Palaban where Rosanna Roces used the “gel” as hand lotion instead, which would have been incredibly icky and sticky like Elmer’s Glue (I heard).

MOVIE REVIEW: THE TRUMAN SHOW (Peter Weir, 1998)

“We accept the reality of the world with which we are presented.”

Years before Bea Saw delivered her rousing speech on how respect is earned, not imposed and Douglas Nierras made Rainier Castillo weep while teaching him the values of hard work and dedication, Peter Weir and Andrew Niccol came out with this brilliant satire of reality television that doubled as a laser-sharp social commentary.

That perfect ending gets me every single time. 😢

I also realized after the nth viewing that that setup would never work in this age of social media because every single one of those extras would do everything to get their own fifteen minutes of fame.
