MOVIE REVIEW: BRIDE WARS (Gary Winick, 2009)

Burning questions:

• I couldn’t understand why they chose to sabotage each other’s weddings when they were supposed to be the best of friends. Shouldn’t they have tried to ruin the life of Casey Wilson instead (especially since she acted really maldita to them)?

• Would any woman in her right mind ever dump the leaner version of Chris Pratt for another guy?

• They looked so much in love. Why didn’t they marry each other instead? #LoveWins

MOVIE REVIEW: 13 GOING ON 30 (Gary Winick, 2004)

In retrospect, it was actually a bit creepy watching a grown man kiss a teen trapped in a woman’s body.

Still, this was a great showcase for Jennifer Garner. Her performance reminded me so much of Jamie Lee Curtis’ in Freaky Friday and a little bit of Tom Hanks’ in Big. She was incredibly charming here that I wondered why her career as a rom-com leading lady never really took off.

The young Jen was played by Christa B. Allen. Yup, Charlotte Grayson of Revenge. 😳

Loved the Liz Phair song!!

“Why can’t I breathe whenever I think about you
Why can’t I speak whenever I talk about you
It’s inevitable, it’s a fact that we’re gonna get down to it
So tell me
Why can’t I breathe whenever I think about you..”
